Celebuzz 'Grey's Anatomy' Star Jessica Capshaw Talks 'Dark' Premiere, Saying Goodbye to Co-Stars (VIDEO) http://www.celebuzz.com/2012-09-30/greys-anatomy-star-jessica-capshaw-talks-dark-premiere-saying-goodbye-to-co-stars-video/ Sep 30th 2012, 20:35 Needless to say, ABC's Grey's Anatomy fans were taken aback by the tragic developments on Season 9's premiere earlier this week. Though she's still around – which is more than we can say for Lexie (Chyler Leigh) and Mark (Eric Dane) – Arizona now has to live with both of their deaths in addition to having her leg amputated after last season's deadly plane crash. Jessica Capshaw, who plays Arizona on the medical drama, previously told Celebuzz that "no one is going to be happy" with the premiere. And now, she can speak freely about the events. "Geez Louise, I don't think anyone saw that coming," she tells Celebuzz of the shocking premiere episode's twists at Saturday's Environmental Media Awards in Los Angeles. "I've known for a long time. It's been hard to keep a secret," she says apologetically. What will Arizona be facing next? "[It's a] very different side [of Arizona]," she explains. "I can't say '[it's] not for long.' I can just say no one's setting this story up for defeat," she explains. "There will be light at the end of the tunnel and hopefully it will feel all much warmer, because it's been so cold and dark. But yes, we're definitely going to see her go through quite a lot." In doing so, she also touches on the extreme fan reaction to the premiere, which compelled series creator Shonda Rhimes to write an explanation for her decisions. "I'm so proud to be part of a show where people watch and it makes them feel so many things," Capshaw, 36, says. "And you kind of end up becoming part of television history whether you're a guest star or you're a regular from the beginning to the end or somewhere in between." celebuzz's top 10 new shows of fall 2012 10 Photos » "I think [even when] you say goodbye, you're part of something amazing and there are just cycles," she continues. "I think when shows have been on as long as ours has, you do sort of end up knowing that people are going to come and go and it's going to all change."
