Celebuzz Kate Middleton Nude Photo Scandal: Duchess of Cambridge Steps Out for Society Wedding as New 'Bottomless' Snaps Surface http://www.celebuzz.com/2012-09-30/kate-middleton-nude-photo-scandal-duchess-of-cambridge-steps-out-for-society-wedding-as-new-bottomless-snaps-surface/ Sep 30th 2012, 14:16 Kate Middleton may have skipped close friend Mary Bucknell's wedding in Berkshire last week, but the Duchess is back in the public spotlight — this time, for a society wedding. On Sunday, the 30-year-old joined her family, which included sister Pippa, mother Carole and father Michael, for the wedding of family friend Thierry Kelaart and Patrick Heathcote-Amory in Oxfordshire, the Daily Mail reports. Middleton, who attended the event without husband Prince William, opted for a long-sleeved light turquoise dress, nude pumps and a white hat. She appeared to be in good spirits, even smiling for photographers that had piled outside the church. According to the Daily Mail, the Duchess' father had the special role of walking Kelaart down the aisle, in place of the bride's late father. "The wedding was very well planned and it was a wonderful village occasion. As far as I'm aware the Middletons are very, very old family friends of the bride," a Church source told the paper. This is the first time the Duchess has been in the public spotlight since ending her nine-day Diamond Jubilee tour in the Far East. Besides her Jubilee duties, Middleton has kept a low profile in recent weeks thanks to the superfluous attention she has received from her nude photo scandal. kate middleton's diamond jubilee looks 23 Photos » This weekend, the scandal made headlines again after Danish magazine Se Og Hor reportedly published a 16-page photo spread containing new "bottomless" pictures of the Duchess vacationing in France. The magazine's editor has since denied the existence of such photos. On Saturday, Kim Henningsen told CNN that his publication had only reprinted some of the photos first seen in Closer, the French magazine that was fined nearly one week ago by a French court, after the Duke and Duchess filed and won an injunction. Do you think Kate Middleton should keep a low profile these days? What do you think of the latest development in her nude photo scandal? Share your thoughts below. 'Cheers' at 30: Eight Reasons Why the Classic Sitcom Still Matters (INSIDE STORY)
Sep 30th 2012, 12:25

Celebuzz 'Cheers' at 30: Eight Reasons Why the Classic Sitcom Still Matters (INSIDE STORY) http://www.celebuzz.com/2012-09-30/cheers-at-30-seven-reasons-why-the-classic-sitcom-still-matters-inside-story/ Sep 30th 2012, 12:00 A few years ago, it seemed like Cheers was one of those shows, like M*A*S*H, Seinfeld, The Simpsons, or Frasier (Cheers' own spinoff) that was going to be a staple of late-night TV forever, its 275 episodes a permanent part of TV's atmosphere. Today, however, Cheers' place in the TV firmament seems less certain. After all, as of this weekend, it's 30 years old (it debuted on Sept. 30, 1982). It's not as hip in its content as the more subversive, satirical Simpsons or Seinfeld, or as cutting-edge in form as laughtrack-free mockumentary sitcoms like The Office or Modern Family. Younger viewers simply may not be aware of what a landmark Cheers was, or how it made all those other shows possible. "Cheers was an enormous influence on comedy, and an influence very much for the positive," Huffington Post TV critic Maureen Ryan told Celebuzz. "It was incredibly sharp and literate and well acted. It raised the bar in terms of what comedy could be, and the best thing an aspiring TV comedy writer could do is watch that show," she added. Those sentiments are echoed by such accomplished comedy writers and and performers as Amy Poehler, whose current Parks and Recreation is unimaginable without the example set by Cheers. Fans of the series should visit GQ's website, which just posted a wonderful, epic oral history of the show, featuring recollections from nearly every star and writer. Those who aren't yet fans, read on for eight reasons why Cheers still matters and why it still holds up 30 years later. Amy poehler at the 2012 Primetime Emmy Awards 7 Photos » 1. It created lasting stars. Among those made famous by Cheers are Ted Danson (currently heading the cast of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation), Kirstie Alley (currently on Dancing With the Stars), Kelsey Grammer (currently starring in Boss), Shelley Long (occasionally guest-starring as Ed O'Neill's ex-wife on Modern Family), and Woody Harrelson (whose recent movies include Zombieland and The Messenger, for which he earned an Oscar nomination). Then there are others who are less household names but eternally recognizable faces, including Rhea Perlman, John Ratzenberger, Bebe Neuwirth, and George Wendt, who, for the rest of his life, will never have to pay for a drink and will be greeted with a rousing group shout of "Norm!" every time he enters a bar. 2. It was based on a brilliant, endlessly adaptable premise. There had been workplace sitcoms before Cheers, but Cheers was the first one that suggested that any ad hoc people who spent enough time in one place together, whether they worked there or not, constituted a family. That was true of Seinfeld and Friends (substitute a diner or coffeehouse for a bar), and it's true of the extended families of The Office, Parks and Recreation and Community. Kirstie Alley Rehearsing during her first 'Dancing With the Stars' Run 11 Photos » 3. It created fully-rounded characters whom viewers came to regard as family members. "What the show did was give viewers an array of characters we could care deeply about, and it also made people care about those people's relationships with each other," Huffington Post's Ryan told Celebuzz. "This was not the standard way in which comedy operated back in the day, but it's very present in how many of TV's best comedies have worked in subsequent years, and I think that's largely the influence of Cheers. Why did we care about Ross and Rachel on Friends, why do we care about the citizens of Pawnee [on Parks and Recreation]? Because Cheers provided an example of how you deepen and enrich the bond between audience and show — you tell funny jokes, sure, you entertain, but you also have a heart and a story that is going somewhere." 4. It worked as both self-contained episodes and as a long, soapy arc. Watching any of them today, out of order on late-night TV, each Cheers episode works on its own. But Cheers also marks the beginning of primetime comedies with long-gestating storylines, with characters who grow and change over time instead of remaining static. The will-they-or-won't-they-hook-up plotline between Sam (Danson) and Diane (Long) in the first few seasons was the model for every show since that's tried to milk the sexual tension between its male and female leads for as long as it can, without losing the spark of conflict (and the audience's interest) if they do finally become a couple. "It raised the stakes in the characters' relationships over time," Ryan told Celebuzz. "That simply didn't happen, for the most part, on any TV shows, but in its own stealth way, Cheers made it safe for shows to be serialized, to have people's lives change, to have dramatic developments reverberate for months or years." Eventually, the notion of a serial plotline that you had to follow from the beginning was everywhere, even in unclassifiable dramas like Lost. 5. It was the model for how to replace a beloved character who leaves — twice. When Nicholas Colasanto died, his sweet-but-dimwitted Coach was replaced by a similar but younger character, Woody Boyd (Harrelson). And when Long left, Diane was replaced by a character who was her polar opposite, Alley's Rebecca Howe. Both transitions worked remarkably well and gave the show several more years of life. In fact, it's hard to think of another sitcom that has replaced primary cast members as gracefully — not NewsRadio, nor The Office, nor Two and a Half Men. Kelsey Grammer's Ex, Camille, Asks $17.9M for Malibu Mansion 6 Photos » 6. It made Thursday the most important night of the television week. Believe it or not, in the 1970s, people used to stay home and watch TV on Saturdays. CBS had an unbeatable lineup of sitcoms that included The Mary Tyler Moore Show and The Bob Newhart Show. ABC had frothy, hour-long escapist shows Love Boat and Fantasy Island. But the rise of Cheers helped make Thursday into TV's top night Augmented later by The Cosby Show and eventually by Seinfeld, Thursday night became what NBC rightly touted as "must-see TV." Soon, its Thursday hits were commanding top dollar among advertisers. It didn't hurt that Hollywod studios realized that Thursdays are when many people decide which movies to see on the weekend, making Thursdays especially lucrative for film ads. The other networks began moving their strongest shows to Thursdays to compete, making the night an ad bonanza for all of them. Still, NBC held on for a very long time, with its '90s Thursday schedule including such mainstays as Seinfeld, Friends, and the drama ER. It's only in the last decade or so that NBC's Thursday dominance has slipped, though it's still the night you can watch the network's smartest comedies — Community, The Office, 30 Rock, and Parks and Recreation. And it's still the most prestigious night for TV sponsors. 7. It never jumped the shark. Sure, some people prefer the Diane years over the Rebecca years, or the Coach years over the Woody years, but the quality stayed remarkably consistent over 11 seasons, thanks to the working rhythms developed by the cast (who knew their characters inside and out) and the top-notch writing staff. "I attended a taping once," Denver Post TV critic Joanne Ostrow recalled to Celebuzz. "They rewrote lines on the fly, trying out various ways to make the funny jokes funnier. There they were, hitting marks, making entrances, spouting lines, writers on the side rewriting even during the taping, suggesting new lines, and it all went off like a little play," she said. By the time Cheers went off the air in 1993 (only because Danson was tired of doing it, and no one wanted to do the show without him), it was still one of TV's top-rated and best-loved series. Forty million people watched the finale, an unimaginable number for any comedy now. top 10 funny ladies 10 Photos » 8. It championed a sophisticated style of writing that became a dominant style in sitcoms. Cheers punchlines were full of lofty references to highbrow culture, but placed in context so that, even if you didn't get the reference, you'd still get the laugh. The writers didn't talk down to the audience. Often, the writers would avoid addressing sticky topics directly, assuming that the audience would figure out what was really being said. That's a writing style that bore fruit most clearly on Frasier (which, naturally, was staffed with writers who'd worked on Cheers), but also shows like Friends, Will & Grace (both of which depended on the light touch of Cheers director James Burrows), Seinfeld, The Office, and The Simpsons and Modern Family (both of which have included writer/producers who had worked on Cheers). Poehler continues to study Cheers on her downtime. "It's the only show I have on my DVR, and I watch it all the time," she told GQ. "Not only because it's comforting, but also because I relate to that feeling of loving the people you work with." She added, "I hope and assume that every good comedy writer, no matter the age, has a moment where they discover how great Cheers is. And I would encourage any young person getting into comedy to sit down and watch the best television show that's ever been on, and see the structure of it. Because their jokes were evergreen." Kristin Chenoweth Talks 'The Good Wife' Accident and How It Helped Her Reassess Her Career (Q&A)

Celebuzz Kristin Chenoweth Talks 'The Good Wife' Accident and How It Helped Her Reassess Her Career (Q&A) http://www.celebuzz.com/2012-09-30/kristin-chenoweth-talks-the-good-wife-accident-and-how-it-helped-her-reassess-her-career-qa/ Sep 30th 2012, 11:00 Kristin Chenoweth was excited about her new job: A juicy, recurring role on CBS' The Good Wife playing Peggy Byrne, a political reporter. But all that changed last July when she was filming. An enormous tarp attached to metal beams suspended 35 feet in the air fell and slammed the diminutive (at 4 feet, 11 inches and 91 pounds) actress to the ground. She was knocked unconscious and awoke to find EMT and co-star Josh Charles attending to her injuries. "I fell on a curb and suffered a skull fracture and neck and back and rib issues," the Oklahoma native told Celebuzz. "I've been recuperating for eight weeks. So, you can see me do two scenes on The Good Wife, which bums me out but that's the way life goes." How's Chenoweth doing now and how has the accident changed her? Although she's feeling much better she's still not completely healed. "For the most part, my neck and rib issues are still very prevalent," she explained. Kristin Chenoweth gets out and about 10 Photos » "My goal is getting back into life and trying to get back to work, but very slowly because I have to wear my neck brace," she continued. "But, I'm feeling a lot better and thankful to be here." The accident forced the actress who has successfully navigated Broadway (Wicked), television (FOX's Glee and the short-lived GCB on ABC) and movies (The Pink Panther) to reassess her career path and decide what she really wants to focus on. Not surprisingly that turns out to be singing. "I've had a lot of time to think lately," Chenoweth, 44, told us. "And one of the things that I want to do, that I love so much is singing. I feel like God didn't give me the gift of math or being a very good driver, but this is my gift so I want to concentrate on that." emmys 2012 winners 10 Photos » "I've always been singing since I can remember, but concert work is so important to me. Obviously, I love TV and movies but I want to get back on that stage, because I do think that's what I'm supposed to do." Celebuzz spoke more with the actress and singer about what life has been like on the mend since her accident and returning to Glee. Celebuzz: It must have been hard to lie in bed in for two months. Kristin Chenoweth: I hated it. It knocked me out. I'm just glad it's over. I feel like I'm over the hump. I go at 200 miles per hour and then to go to zero, it's hard. I thought and thought about all the things you don't want to think about. But it's actually been kind of a blessing. I said to my mom, "Why me?" And she said, "Why not you? You're just like everybody else, you're human and things happen. You're not special. It's just life." And that kind of helped me when I had that "why me?" thing. CB: Were there any bible verses that helped you? KC: I have bible verses all over my house. My mom taped some to my closet door, so when I would wake up in the morning I would see them. But, the thing I kept quoting was Dolly Parton who said, "If you want to have the rainbows, you've got to put up with the rain." And that's kind of where I'm at. You don't get to have it all great all the time. celebuzz's top 10 new shows of fall 2012 10 Photos » CB: Any favorite TV shows while you were laid up? KC: Any of The Real Housewives, Here Comes Honey Boo, and Storage Wars. I love Caroline Manzo from Jersey Housewives. I went on Twitter and I guess I started a Twitter war. I wrote, "I love you Caroline." And she tweeted me back and then all these people started saying, "How dare you like her! She's bad news. We're never going to see another show you're in." I was like, "What?" People can be mean, because they can hide behind their Twitter name. I've gotten very fond of the block button. CB: Any more Glee appearances planned? KC: They've not asked, but I sure did love playing her. She was such a fun part. I love the cast so much. CB: Did you feel like a mama bear? KC: Very much so and I took on that role because I knew they're young, they're starting out and it's going to be hard because they've had such success and you know there are ebbs and flows in this career. I'm especially fond of a couple of them. I don't know, I just want them all to do well. The Good Wife Season 4 premiere airs Sunday at 9 PM on CBS. 'Once Upon a Time' Season 2 Premiere: Magic Unleashed, Plus 4 More Things to Expect (PHOTOS & VIDEO)

Celebuzz 'Once Upon a Time' Season 2 Premiere: Magic Unleashed, Plus 4 More Things to Expect (PHOTOS & VIDEO) http://www.celebuzz.com/2012-09-30/once-upon-a-time-premiere-5-things-to-expect-from-season-2-photos-video/ Sep 30th 2012, 10:30 ABC's Once Upon a Time returns Sunday for its second season after tearing down the curse that kept magic out of the series' Storybrooke on last season's finale. That change makes for some interesting new storylines, twists and relationship changes among Fairytale land's refugees. "A lot of new characters are being introduced in the second season," Lana Parrilla, who plays Regina, told Celebuzz at EW's Pre-Emmy party. "There is a new realm that is being introduced – it has been out there so I can say it," she teased. "A lot of surprises, every episode has a cliffhanger and that's what we love about our show. It just keeps you wanting more. It is a fabulous new season, it is exciting. Every episode that comes out I can't wait to read it." And we at Celebuzz couldn't wait to watch the premiere episode early and bring you the five things to expect this season. Note: Mild spoilers ahead. 1. Things pick up right from where they left off. Literally, we join our brave fairytale transplants right after the mist that brings magic to Storybrooke dissipates and the characters all remember exactly who they are in addition to their time in the town. That makes for some really touching reunions. But, in a place where danger lurks around every corner and with the possibility of magic now introduced, those tighter bonds can actually endanger all those involved. 'once upon a time' season 2 cast photos 8 Photos » 2. There are survivors in Fairytale Land. We think that this is what Parrilla refers to when she says that a new realm will be introduced. While we once believed that Fairytale Land was no more after the Evil Queen's curse, that isn't exactly true. The first survivors we'll meet are Disney princesses, Mulan (Jamie Chung) and Aurora AKA Sleeping Beauty (Sarah Bolger), and a dashing new prince played by Pretty Little Liars actor Julian Morris. 3. Sure, magic has arrived, but its use is not a given. If you were expecting that magic would return and a light show of spells cast by Regina, the Blue Fairy (Keegan Tracy) and a number of other magical beings who have remembered who they really are, you'd be mistaken. Apparently, magic works very differently in the real world and only one person really knows how to make it pop. We'll give you one guess on who he is… 4. Three moms are a crowd. OK, get your abacus out. First, Mary Margaret (Ginnifer Goodwin) remembers she's Emma's (Jennifer Morrison) mother and that just makes the pragmatic character confused and wanting a little time to figure out how to transition her best friend to her mom. Then, there's Henry (Jared Gilmore) stuck in the middle of a very angry town who remembers that his adoptive mom is the Evil Queen and the reason why they've been snatched from their real lives. Despite his own mixed feelings for Regina, he's not about to let the angry townsfolk tear her to shreds. And what Henry wants is what Emma – and his grandparents Mary Margaret and David (Josh Dallas) — want, so expect a tenuous alliance in their future. That would be one nutty Thanksgiving dinner. shots from 'once's' season 2 premiere 23 Photos » 5. Population growth affects Once Upon a Time. With the fact that everyone in town remembers who they really are and now this mysterious new realm, there's a lot more characters coming your way. Here's a preview: Lost's Jorge Garcia has been cast as The Giant; a less noble Sir Lancelot will be played by Teen Wolf's Sinqua Walls; Captain Hook will reach Once's shores, played by The Rite and The Tudors actor Colin O'Donoghue; Canadian actor Ben Hollingsworth will play a warlock named Quinn, who is disowned by his parents because they're scared of his magical abilities; and Pretty Little Liars actress Annabeth Gish will play Anita, the leader of a group of humans who share a certain canine alter ego with Ruby (Meghan Ory). Some other treats for you: Take a look at some photos from the Season 2 premiere and the cast's latest character photos above. Once Upon a Time's second season debuts Sunday at 8 PM on ABC. 'Revenge' Season 2 Premiere: A New Murder Mystery, Plus 6 More Things to Expect (PHOTOS & VIDEO)
Sep 30th 2012, 10:25

Celebuzz 'Revenge' Season 2 Premiere: A New Murder Mystery, Plus 6 More Things to Expect (PHOTOS & VIDEO) http://www.celebuzz.com/2012-09-30/revenge-season-2-premiere-a-new-murder-mystery-plus-6-more-things-to-expect/ Sep 30th 2012, 10:00 For its first season, ABC's Revenge delivered on duplicity with Emily Thorne's (Emily VanCamp) unflinching ability to walk into any room and be the person those already in there wanted her to be — all while plotting their demise in the background. The season unfolded with one hell of a murder mystery, an epic love triangle, a blast from the past, and quite a few other near death moments for good measure. Emily's world was continuously rocked, and just when it looked like she was getting things back under control and perhaps even preparing to "come out" as Amanda Clarke to her long lost friend Jack (Nick Wechsler), two new bombshells were dropped on her, making her recalculate her plans once again. Season 2 is starting with a bang, though, seeing Emily regroup with some friends old and new, as well as tying up loose ends from the other season's end cliffhangers, like just whether Charlotte (Christa B. Allen) overdosed fatally and where Victoria (Madeleine Stowe) may be hiding if she didn't perish in that plane crash. What can you expect from Revenge's second season premiere? Who else is dead? Following the formula of Season 1, though, Revenge's second season premiere entitled "Destiny" starts a few months in the future, during an excavation and recovery mission in the water. At first glance, it certainly, simply, feels like they are looking for parts of Victoria's plane, but very quickly it becomes apparent that another Hamptons resident has experienced a similar tragedy: A few family heirlooms — and later the full name of the boat — is revealed. Oh yeah, and there is a body on it. Just like with the shooting on the beach in the pilot, though, Revenge doesn't reveal the victim's identity because the mystery of who it is and how he (or maybe she?) came to be there will unfold over the first half of the season. 'revenge' season 2 cast portraits 47 Photos » An intensely refocused Emily. For now, the premiere jumps back in time by three months to see Emily in Japan, training harder than ever and determined to find her mother. She must be a little resentful that she couldn't bring down the person who killed her father, but she's throwing all of her emotions into her "work." Nolan toughens up. After all that happened, wouldn't you? Similar to Emily, back in the Hamptons, Nolan (Gabriel Mann) is in training, too, toughening himself up after hiding behind bodyguards last season. Daniel follows the party line. And Daniel (Josh Bowman) is throwing everything he has into work, still avoiding dealing with his mother's demise — that's right, Victoria is nowhere to be found, and the Graysons have presumed her dead. Daniel is "drinking the Grayson Global Kool Aid" and working with his father (Henry Czerny) who is now running the company. But Daniel has also shacked up with Ashley (Ashley Madekwe), which is bound to make things even more uncomfortable upon Emily's return. shots from 'revenge's' season 2 premiere episode, 'destiny' 14 Photos » Jack has everything, but something's missing. Jack and the other Amanda (Marguerita Levieva) are preparing for their baby, which is due any day now, but he is a bit emotionally checked out of the relationship, drinking a lot, not quite opening up to her fully, and neglecting his responsibilities over all, leaving Declan (Connor Paolo) to step up at the bar. Life is just a little off for everyone. The key thing to know about Revenge's second season premiere before you go into it, though, is just how forlorn just about every character appears to be. Though these are the rich and powerful — people who should have it all — they all look pretty miserable in their current situations, but they'd still rather try to make the best of things by manipulating each other, rather than moving on. Or perhaps they all just miss Emily's presence more than they realize, let alone care to admit. Her return to the Hamptons is certainly going to be the real piece of action that jump starts the season! shots from season 2, episode 2, 'resurrection' 10 Photos » Revenge premieres Sunday on ABC at 9 PM. Celebuzz Anne Hathaway's Wedding Photos Revealed (PHOTOS) http://www.celebuzz.com/2012-09-30/anne-hathaways-wedding-photos-revealed-photos/ Sep 30th 2012, 04:26 Anne Hathaway and her groom Adam Shulman are the portrait of happiness — locked in a kiss — in photos from their sunset wedding on Saturday night in scenic Big Sur, Calif. The pair welcomed 180 guests for a two-day extravaganza of fall fun surrounding the nuptials, at a private estate with sweeping views of the coastline. As Celebuzz first reported, the Dark Knight star, 29, said "I Do" to her actor-turned-jewelry designer husband just after 5 p.m. PT on Sept. 29. Hathaway wore a custom-made Valentino gown with a headpiece and veil, while the groom looked dashing in a traditional black tuxedo and bow tie. The pair exchanged vows just after 5 p.m. PT before posing for official photographs. As we reported exclusively, the ceremony was a lavish affair with a white, pink and rustic theme. The couple spent more than $100,000 on flowers. "The floral arrangements and wedding décor were simple and rustic," a source told Celebuzz. The flowers were arranged by The Velvet Garden, a floral design studio that specialized in high-end one of a kind designs. The florists previously created arrangements for the weddings of Drew Barrymore, Reese Witherspoon and Natalie Portman. "The flowers took over a week to create," added the source. The wedding was designed by the same planner who handled Portman's Aug. 4 nuptials to Benjamin Millepied, Yifat Oren. Coastline. 180 guests — 18 tables with ten people each — sat amongst more than $100,000 of flowers in a private marquee erected especially for the reception. Each table had 12 mini centerpieces. "The floral arrangements and wedding décor were simple and rustic," a source told Celebuzz, noting they were transported from Los Angeles to the Central Coast of California for the occasion. More exclusive details after the jump. The wedding was designed by the same planner who handled Portman's Aug. 4 nuptials to Benjamin Millepied, Yifat Oren. One vendor who worked on the Les Misérables star's wedding told Celebuzz he estimated the occasion cost more than $1 million.
